In Italy we are never too far from creativity and innovation. On this occasion, November 2014, K-array were invited to support the celebration that marks 60 years of Nuovo Pignone and 20 years of the GE Oil & Gas company who brought the industry of petrol here in Florence.

"I want to congratulate GE Oil & Gas for the event, it was really well done and much appreciated by our employees who had the opportunity to attend so close to home."

Nuovo Pignone is a technology company that excelled in Oil and Gas during the 1950s and is now recognised worldwide in the creation of oil and gas, aviation turbines, compressors and pumps. Nuovo Pignone exports its machinery and its technologies worldwide under the ownership of GE Oil & Gas.

For the anniversary event they revealed the latest, innovative turbine to be used in the next generation of gas and oil expeditions at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence. Highly influential members of the technology industry and members of the general public were invited to share this occasion including K-array who supported the event organisers Mediacross to deliver an audio solution in the vast, complex space of the old station.

The project, which was designed by architect Alessandro Rustighi for Mediacross, designed every little detail. Sharpened forms, as blades and set design was remarkable. At the event there was one big room exhibiting the technical details of the new turbine where KAN200+ supported the video projection. In addition there was another room with a video projection supported by 2 x KR402 and a KO70. This impressive technical show was created by the MMG Multimedia Meeting Group who have recently joined the K-array family by buying a number of portable and installation speakers for events such as these. The MMG Multimedia Meeting Group hailed the K-array systems for their easy, plug and play set up as well as the quality of sound to reduce the noise reverberation in this vast open venue. Video was also a constant element either with an informational and communicative purpose but also part of the interior design.

Several videos were created including a futuristic holographic. Some specially noteworthy are the ones that gave you an overview of the history of GE Oil and Gas using modern postproduction effects or a video wall installation which worked as the lighting of the bar, capturing the attention with syncopated images of futuristic bulbs. A KAN 200+ Anakonda,2 x KR402 and a KO70 supported this impressive space of the exhibition. In the 300 seat auditorium where inspirational talk shows and debates have taken place K-array installed 2 x KR402 and a KO70 as an additional sub. Due to the large open space, the building suffered a lot form noise reverberation however, due to the intelligent design of the speakers this was not an issue at all.
