Nobu Hotels and Eden Roc Resort Miami Beach have joined forces to develop the multi-million dollar, hotel within a hotel, Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc Miami Beach backed by renowned Chef Nobu, Academy Award-winner Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper.
The resort features 210 guest rooms, the signature Nobu restaurant and bar, a beach-front restaurant, 20,000 square feet of spa and fitness facilities, over 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space and two luxurious pools.
Interior designers took to ensure lush and natural elements were fused with contemporary finishes in the modern and elegant setting. This fusion, which is a core thread of Nobu, was also required for the hotel’s acoustics. New York City-based El Media Group (EMG) was brought in to design and install a seamless audio system for the Nobu restaurant, bar and hotel lobby and in turn, selected K-array as its go-to solution given their portfolio of products with sleek, stylish design as well as high-quality sound performance.
The three distinct areas combine to form one large open space, so EMG needed products that had good dispersion but control so avoid sound overlap. Co-founder and COO Ernie Lake equipped the bar with eight KP102 Python loudspeakers paired with two 18” KMT18 subwoofers and two 12” KMT12 subwoofers. The restaurant had twelve, half-meter KP52 Python loudspeakers integrated into rattan-covered columns and were combined with two 12” KMT12 subwoofers. Both these sections were powered by K-array KA84 amplifiers. The lobby was equipped with three KR402 systems which each include a pair of two KP102 Python loudspeakers sitting atop a 21” KMT21 subwoofer.
The clients were extremely happy with the install as they have appointed EMG to provide the audio systems for many other locations of the prestigious chain such as Newport Beach, California; Chicago, Illinois; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Honolulu, Hawaii; NYC and Washington DC.
